Student/Parent/Teacher Team
Our combined efforts are necessary in order for the student to be successful, and to ensure a great return on your investment.
Teacher's Responsibilities
1. Provide high quality, well-prepared lessons in a positive learning environment.
2. Encourage, motivate and show students how to practice effectively.
3. Inform parents about the best methods of encouraging/motivating their child.
4. Create an environment where students have fun while being inspired to learn.
5. Encourage consistent communication between students, parents and teacher.
Student's Responsibilities
1. Bring music binder, music books and completed written assignments to all lessons.
2. Practice at least 5 days a week for the length of time necessary to meet the goal.
3. Ask questions when you don't understand.
4. Respond cheerfully to parent's reminders. They are helping YOU to be successful!
5. Listen to professionals that play your instrument. You will learn alot from their performances.
Parent's Responsibilities
1. Provide a well-tuned instrument in an area free from distractions for practice.
2. Provide encouragement in the form of praise, ask to hear a specific piece, gently remind your child to practice…but don't fuss! Encourage regular practice like you encourage brushing teeth. Most children do neither without being reminded. As their playing skills improve and they hear positive comments from parents and peers, most students will start to practice more frequently without being reminded.
3. Check to see that assignments are completed and they have all books ready to bring to lessons.
4. Keep the teacher informed on how things are going. Feel free to ask questions.
5. Bring students for lessons on time and pay on the first of each month.
